“Sing for Stroke!” Community Singing Day

As part of Stroke Awareness Month, we are holding a community singing day to spread awareness of the support we provide for survivors of stroke, and to raise much-needed funds for our group. The event will take place from 10am to 4pm on Wednesday 20th May 2026 at the Mint Methodist Church, Fore Street, Exeter. The event is free to attend, but if you would like to give a donation to the group it will be very gratefully received, and your contribution will help us to continue providing crucial peer support to stroke survivors living in Exeter and the surrounding areas.

Join us for the whole day, or pop in for as little or as long as you like!

Our members – all stroke survivors, and family, friends and volunteers – will be singing throughout the day, and we invite you to join us, whether you would like to sing with us, or simply listen and enjoy. Discover first hand the fantastic impact of singing with others on your own health and wellbeing – you don’t need to be an experienced singer, just willing to give it a go! You can join us for the whole day, or just pop in for as long as you like.

We will be singing well-known and loved songs from across genres and decades, including rock and pop from the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s as well as traditional songs, folk, jazz, swing and classic to modern musicals. The singing will be guided by our singing facilitator Naomi, founder of Music Speaks. Song words will be provided.

If you or a loved one has had a stroke and you are interested in finding out more about Exeter Peer Support Stroke Group, our members and volunteers will be available to talk to you about our sessions and how we can help.
